Why Hoppenville
rehearsal dinners live somewhere on the estate.
With the guest list for a rehearsal dinner usually landing between 25 and 80, you have two good options on the same 24-acre property, which means nobody has to drive anywhere else the night before the wedding. The Bank Barn suits the larger end of that range: a restored mid-1800s post-and-beam barn with hand-hewn timber overhead, a string-light ceiling, and sliding doors that open onto an adjacent lawn, arranged banquet-style or around one long table. For a smaller, closer group, The Cottage works well: the restored 1850s schoolhouse has a full kitchen and a private porch looking over the orchard, room enough to gather before some of the wedding party stays the night in its three bedrooms. Either space is served by one of the estate's two in-house caterers, Robert Ryan Catering & Design or Tosco's Catering, since catering here is exclusive to those two. The Bank Barn's doors stay open for fresh air on a mild evening, and if the weather turns, there's an indoor rain plan at no extra cost, with the call made together 24 to 48 hours out. Tours run Tuesday through Saturday by appointment, so you can walk both spaces before deciding which fits your group.
