Every Season Has a Case

There is no single "best" month to get married in Pennsylvania. Every season offers distinct advantages and trade-offs. The best month for your wedding depends on what you prioritize: weather certainty, fall foliage, budget savings, or venue availability.

Month-by-Month Guide

January and February

Weather: Cold. Average highs of 35 to 40 degrees F. Snow is possible. Indoor weddings are the norm.

Pricing: Lowest of the year. Venues offer 20 to 40 percent discounts.

Pros: Best pricing, wide availability, unique winter aesthetic, holiday decorations still up in January.

Cons: Limited outdoor options, potential weather disruptions for travel, shorter days.

March and April

Weather: Unpredictable. March can be wintry or spring-like. April warms up but rain is frequent. Average highs of 50 to 65 degrees F.

Pricing: Moderate. Transitional pricing between off-season and peak.

Pros: Cherry blossoms and early spring flowers (late April), good vendor availability.

Cons: Mud season, unpredictable weather, outdoor events are risky before late April.

May and June

Weather: Warm and green. Average highs of 70 to 82 degrees F. June brings humidity.

Pricing: Peak season begins. Full pricing.

Pros: Lush green landscapes, long days, peonies and roses in season, comfortable temperatures in May.

Cons: June humidity can be intense, popular dates book fast, higher pricing.

July and August

Weather: Hot and humid. Average highs of 85 to 90 degrees F. Afternoon thunderstorms common.

Pricing: Peak but slightly less competitive than September/October. Some venues offer summer specials.

Pros: Longest days of the year, lush gardens, school's out so family attendance is easier.

Cons: Heat and humidity are real concerns, outdoor comfort requires shade and cooling strategies.

September and October

Weather: The sweet spot. Average highs of 65 to 78 degrees F. Low humidity. Clear skies.

Pricing: Highest. Peak demand. October Saturdays are the most sought-after dates in PA.

Pros: Perfect weather, stunning fall foliage (mid-October peak), golden hour light is incredible, comfortable for both indoor and outdoor events.

Cons: Highest pricing, lowest availability, vendors book earliest for these months.

November

Weather: Cooling down. Average highs of 50 to 55 degrees F. Late fall foliage in early November.

Pricing: Transitioning from peak to off-season. Good value.

Pros: Moody autumn atmosphere, still some foliage in early November, better pricing than October, Thanksgiving proximity can help with family travel.

Cons: Shorter days, cooler temperatures limit outdoor time, competing with Thanksgiving weekend.

December

Weather: Cold. Average highs of 40 to 45 degrees F. Occasional snow.

Pricing: Off-season pricing (except holiday weekends which may be premium).

Pros: Holiday atmosphere, venue can be decorated with holiday elements, cozy indoor celebrations, potential for a magical snow backdrop.

Cons: Competing with holiday schedules, cold weather limits outdoor options, vendor availability can be tricky around the holidays.

The Verdict

If weather is your priority: September or October.

If budget is your priority: January, February, or March.

If availability is your priority: January through April, or weekdays any month.

If foliage is your priority: Mid to late October.
